Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, manage, and ensure performance of database system resources, queries, and storage performance
  • Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuilds, and statistics updates
  • Install database software service packs, cumulative updates and security patching as necessary
  • Maintain database documentation & administer database security access controls, along with ad-hoc backups and restores
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity issues, ensure 24x7 continuous availability of production environment
  • Proactively monitor and respond timely to database alerts
  • Optimize SQL code as necessary (i.e., Indexing, etc.)
  • Work with support teams on both internal & external developed applications to insure data and process integrity
  • Install, monitor, and support SQL server instances including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS components
  • Install, monitor, and support various AWS solutions including: Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL Managed Instance, SQL DB's
  • Work with support teams on both internal & external developed applications to insure data and process integrity
  • Create new databases and overwrite test databases with copies of production databases while maintaining proper security
  • Manage SQL Server authentication using both SQL logins & AD groups; enforce principle of least privilege
  • Troubleshoot application database connectivity, SQL server issues, query performance, SQL HA/DR (Always On) and other issues in production, QC, and development environments
  • Coordinate/implement production fixes, or advise the application owner/developer, as appropriate
  • Perform SQL lifecycle management: Backup/recover/rollback production, test, and development databases environments
  • Demonstrated expertise managing SQL platforms in a virtualized and physical ecosystem
  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  • Create automation and stored procedures for repeating database tasks
  • Build real-time reporting and dashboards to maintain the performance of database servers

Required Technical Qualifications:
  • Experience administering MySQL and SQL Server 2014-2019 instances/databases
  • Experience working with Windows operating systems
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS or Microsoft Azure)
  • Broad Experience leading MySql, Postgres, Aurora to SQL/AWS/RDS Migrations
  • Continuous Availability Experience designing, implementing, and configuring SQL, MySQL, Aurora and Postgres initiatives
  • Enhanced expertise with Active Directory authentication, accounting, and authorization
  • Advanced experience developing and maintaining SQL Reports & Workflow automation
  • Experience creating API for self-service consumption and 3rd party data access
  • Experience leveraging and establishing Data Cubes, SSIS, DW using PowerBI tools
  • Expertise utilizing Microsoft Management Packs for SQL and adjacent applications
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams workflow functionality to reduce paper and increase automation
  • Superior expertise writing T-SQL code and stored procedures to monitor, automate and support DBA tasks
  • Experience ensuring automated data consistency between production, UAT, and lower-level environments
